Technical Operations, Engineering, and Cyber Security within NBCU Operations and Technology division is an $900M+ operating cash flow ($1.2B FCF). The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, and London.
The FP&A Senior Manager will play an integral role on the Tech Ops, Engineering, Cyber (TOEC) FP&A team, which oversees the consolidation and analysis of financial information (OCF, Capital, Headcount, Allocations) across multiple lines of business. The position offers unique exposure to strategic planning that has an enterprise‑wide impact. This role will report to the VP of FP&A for Tech Ops, Engineering, Cyber.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of consolidation (annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, monthly pacing), analyzing key metrics and trends, and summarizing for executive‑level presentations for support areas
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data, and provide regular reporting on financial performance, variances, and trends
Identify and streamline system operations, reporting, and forecasting processes
Collaborate with finance leads to tell an effective, concise, and consistent financial story
Support Controllership and HQ FP&A in monthly and quarterly closes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial performance
Perform various ad‑hoc analyses including variance analysis, sensitivities, and other requests from senior management
Leadership and Culture
Bring a collaborative, hands‑on approach to the work, and focus on team members’ careers and professional development
Promote a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables
Develop open communication and productive work relationships with senior leadership, operations leads, and the broader finance team
Basic Requirements
BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
3+ years public and/or private accounting or FP&A experience preferred
Solid financial and analytical skills including the ability to create complex financial models and efficiently communicate results
Must be proficient with MS Office Suite products – particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Accounting / GAAP knowledge
Desired Characteristics
Team player with the ability to function in a cross‑functional environment and willingness to jump into projects to meet department goals
Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem‑solve independently
organization and time‑management skills; ability to deliver on multiple project assignments, meet tight deadlines and be effective under pressure
Solid interpersonal skills: ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of finance, operations, and senior management
Continuous improvement attitude, ability to seek out and implement best practices
Entertainment / Media / Technology experience preferred
SAP or Essbase knowledge preferred with exposure to BPC a plus
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
