Position: full‑time, 9‑month tenure‑track appointment beginning August 16, 2026. The position is housed in the Department of Anthropology with teaching assignments in both the Anthropology and Linguistics programs.
The successful candidate will maintain an active research program in linguistic anthropology, producing scholarly publications, public scholarship and securing extramural funding. The faculty member will teach introductory undergraduate courses as well as upper‑division and graduate courses in linguistic anthropology. Expected teaching load is two courses per semester. Responsibilities include mentoring graduate students, participating in departmental and university administration, and contributing to service and outreach.
Required Education and Experience
PhD in Anthropology, Linguistics, or a closely related field by the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience grounded in ethnographic, collaborative, and community‑based research, committed to social justice.
Innovative theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of language, synergistic with existing faculty expertise.
Open geographic area, research focus, and language specializations.
Opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and with community partners.
