About The Team The AI Startups team is focused on one of Stripe’s most strategic growth areas: enabling the monetization and scaling of AI-native and AI-enabled businesses. We are in a unique position to partner with the most ambitious AI companies at the forefront of artificial intelligence. Our team collaborates across infrastructure, foundational models, agents, and applications to support these companies in their growth and global commercialization using Stripe’s comprehensive financial stack.
Responsibilities
Own contract renewals and lead commercial negotiations to increase revenue and market share among existing customers.
Develop and implement sales cycle strategies to drive product adoption, new sales, and client retention at scale.
Address complex client needs by collaborating with product, sales, risk, and operations teams to enhance our offerings.
Build and refine the go-to-market playbook for AI monetization and usage-based billing (UBB), including segmentation, messaging, sales strategy, and pipeline generation.
Engage with AI founders and industry influencers to position Stripe as the preferred infrastructure for monetizing AI.
Represent Stripe in market-facing activities (e.g., hackathons, webinars, events) to elevate our presence in the AI and billing ecosystem.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience in a client-facing/sales role
Ability to understand complex technical ecosystems and build great relationships with technical customers
Ability to drive and close upsell opportunities for additional Stripe products in long-term, consultative engagements
Analytical ability to manage complex pricing and cost considerations
Experience managing projects with input from cross-functional teams
A knack for working well with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
Ability and motivation to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a sales and/or customer-facing role at a high growth technology company
Experience with Excel and SQL, or a willingness to learn
In‑Office Expectations Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in‑office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in‑office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in‑person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.
Pay and Benefits The annual US base salary range for this role is $199,600 - $299,400. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process. Additional benefits for this role may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
