Summary

Mercy's Institute for Gynecologic Care is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Tech to work at our Columbia office. This position performs all ultrasound exams/procedures as ordered by our referring physicians. Position is accountable for all peripheral activities associated with each test/procedure, e.g. ID patient, educating patient and family members, validating order and ordering physician, completing all paperwork, completing all Meditech entries, transferring images, and ensuring that ordering physicians receive final results. This is a part-time / prn position (two days/week) (Monday - Friday)

Requirements

Education Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must be a graduate of an Ultrasound accredited program with ARDMS certification. 3 years experience in general sonography. Ultrasound procedures, good communication, good patient care, team work, customer service, procedure flexibility and multitasking Position subject to other interruptions Certification Requirements: ARDMS – American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Healthcare Provider Level CPR Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel Microsoft Outlook Meditech (if applicable to position) Epic (if applicable to position) Performance Manager/NetLearning

Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
