About This Opportunity Overview The Software Engineering - Senior SQL Developer will perform the following duties: Responsible for developing database applications using sound, repeatable, industry best practices and in accordance with Greenskys software development project methodology. Development activities will include updating/maintenance of existing T-SQL code and/or developing new t-SQL objects (stored procedures, user defined functions, triggers etc.) to address a specific need or solve a particular business problem. Create/implement transact SQL (T-SQL) for new applications and enhancements to existing applications. Responsible for performance tuning and optimization of stored procedures using SQL profiler, database tuning wizard, system monitor, event log viewer, SQL profiler and SQL analyzer. Connect regularly with business, engineering & support relating to pending, ongoing & future releases that includes bug fixes & feature releases as part of daily triage, scrum, and sprint iterations. Interact with DBAs and SQL experts on issues and identify and validate approaches for solution for these issues. Perform impact analysis of existing applications and suggest best ways of incorporating new requirements. Design SSIS packages to extract data from various data sources such as access database, excel spreadsheet, and flat files and load data into destination databases for further data analysis and reporting. Involve in defining the source to target data mappings, business rules, business and data definitions according to the software development life cycle. Troubleshoot database-related issues for clients during implementation, maintenance, upgrade, and migration processes. This role will also work closely with software engineers and architects to ensure code is in alignment with documented T-SQL development standards or industry best practices. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/DEGREE AND FIELD: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems or a relevant Engineering field such as Software or Civil Engineering. MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a programmer analyst role.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND/OR LICENSES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB: 5 years of experience in: Creating, updating, and optimizing SQL queries and database objects in Microsoft SQL Server. Working with SSIS packages. Implementing full software development life cycles including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment and production support.
