Work Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 9am-9:30pm.
Responsibilities
Performs diagnostic MRI procedures to include common and special MRI exams. MRI exams use magnetism, radio waves, and a computer to produce images of body structures and provides insight on the chemical makeup of tissues.
Provides direct assistance to physicians with diagnostic and special MRI procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level using verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology and language.
Serves as a mentor to MRI Technologist I and students by utilizing skills and knowledge to help train and educate others.
Works independently with sound judgment and executes above-average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations.
Service Essential Functions
Identifies and responds to patient needs to optimize patient care, image quality and patient experience, including positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors.
Modifies technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizes complications and limitations of procedures.
Provides direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or special MRI procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
Quality/Safety Essential Functions
Follows safety standards and conducts imaging procedures with proper sterile techniques, and complies with MRI safety and infection control policies.
Identifies opportunities for corrective action and process improvement, reports near misses and errors promptly to improve processes, and contributes to safety reporting systems.
Ensures imaging equipment has QC performed and is in safe working order prior to use; reports malfunctions and participates in preventative maintenance.
Supports the implementation and education of department safety initiatives and standards of practice.
Finance Essential Functions
Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures and enters charges at the time of service.
Uses resources efficiently and prioritizes daily tasks to manage time effectively.
Growth/Innovation Essential Functions
Participates in special projects and department initiatives; seeks opportunities for continual development and keeps the IDP updated.
Fosters a positive teaching environment and engages MRI Technologist I and students in valuable learning opportunities aligned with business objectives.

Education
Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
Work Experience
Three years' experience as an MRI Technologist
Licenses And Certifications - Required
BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) AND
Must have one of the following:
ARRT-MR - Radiologic Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT)
ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist
CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job with ongoing assessments and evaluations.
Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English to perform essential functions related to safety and service.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers with customer service focus.
Ability to work independently, handle challenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations with sound judgment.
Basic computer knowledge; experience with Hospital/Radiology Information Systems and Office software.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a focus on excellent customer service.
Adapts to multiple priorities with minimal supervision and participates in problem-solving.
Supplemental Requirements
WORK ATTIRE: Scrubs Yes; Uniform No; Business professional No; Other department-approved Yes.
ON-CALL: Yes (on-call may be required during emergencies).
TRAVEL: May require travel within the Houston Metropolitan area and may require travel outside the area.
