Security Architect Role The Security Architect is a critical technical position responsible for designing and ensuring the secure and compliant enterprise architecture that supports Warner Bros. Discovery’s business technology needs. The role requires a deep understanding of security technology, architecture frameworks, and the capability to advise cross‑functional teams on risk mitigation and secure design practices.

Key Responsibilities

Communicate technical security issues and their implications to management and business leaders.

Evaluate emerging security technologies and determine appropriate use within business applications.

Maintain and enforce WBD’s cybersecurity policies and secure design documentation.

Execute and improve the Security architecture review process to ensure compliance across all business initiatives.

Architect global programs that deploy robust security patterns and controls across applications and computing environments, addressing security, business resiliency, privacy, and compliance frameworks.

Identify security vulnerabilities and guide developers and engineers in remediation.

Promote architectural adoption through automation and efficient use of security tools at scale.

Validate reference architectures for security best practices and recommend enhancements to reduce risk.

Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Privacy, and Sourcing to maintain a strong cybersecurity posture.

Role Accountabilities

Apply architecture frameworks (TOGAF, DoDAF, FEAF) to analyze, document, and align enterprise IT architecture with security and business strategy.

Advise technology teams and senior management on risks, treatment options, and security standards.

Support hardening, baseline, audit, monitoring, and logging of host and operating systems with appropriate controls.

Conduct regular security reviews and assessments of infrastructure and security platforms to identify risks and recommend mitigations.

Design risk mitigation strategies and handle exceptions for systems built without security considerations.

Maintain and enforce WBD cybersecurity policies and secure design documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Security Architecture.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or 6+ years of relevant technical experience.

Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, SANS, Security+.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for senior executives and technical teams.

Deep understanding of threats to consumer‑facing and digital platform organizations.

Working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, Go, etc.).

Experience securing global hybrid architectures and operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).

Experience with application security (OWASP top 10) and remediation.

Proficiency with SIEM & logging tools and extracting actionable intelligence from large log data.

Strong knowledge of network and compute architectures, including security aspects.

Thorough understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks.

Benefits & Compensation Pay Range: $121,103 – $224,905 per year. Additional rewards include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards. Warner Bros.
