Job Title: Project Manager
Job Location: Richmond, VA
Primary Function: Responsible for the development, planning, execution, and monitoring of projects focused on the turnkey construction of high voltage electrical substations, transmission lines and distribution lines.
Duties & Responsibilities
Accountable for the cost, schedule, safety, quality and completion of construction projects
Coordinate work with Purchasing to ensure that requested material is expedited and received as needed for the construction of a project
Manage multiple project teams
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of cash flows, monthly billing, preparing and obtaining change orders for assigned projects
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of monthly construction progress reports, re-projections, files, etc, required for the construction of a project
Resolve inter-group conflicts, project conflicts and delays as required to meet project construction goals
Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments
Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil Engineering, or equivalent is required. Professional Registration is preferred. 10 years experience in the design, construction, or operations of substations and/or transmission lines is required. 10 years of experience in the supervision/management of budgets and work groups is strongly preferred
Demonstrated understanding of substations, substation control and transmission systems
Understand financial aspects of project control
Interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, organizational ability and leadership talent
Experience with MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Working in a team environment
Communicating effectively with co‑workers
Willing to travel to project sites as necessary
Physical Requirements:
This position requires minimal physical effort
Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to year round weather conditions and noise
Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%)
Working extended hours, including weekends, may be required periodically
May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time
