WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week. This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (10) months.
Major Responsibilities
Research relevant statistical tidbits for Broadcast, Social and Content teams.
Communicate regularly as the Stats Team’s representative in Content team meetings.
Present new stats and metrics developed by the Stats Team to Content teams.
QA new stats, metrics and stats features on NBA digital products.
Brainstorm new uses of stats with broadcast and content experts.
Watch NBA game video to chart occurrences of stats events to develop ML training sets.
Work with product development team to ideate, develop and release new NBA Advanced Stats Products that support Next‑Gen initiatives.
Work with partners to ideate and plan activations through NBA partnerships.
Performs data entry via video review, word processing, spreadsheets or database commands.
Coordinate project tasks across development teams.
Communicate project progress to stakeholders across the organization.
Document development stories and track progress within project management software.
Help remove development blockers across multiple development teams.
Required Skills
1+ years of project management, broadcast production or social media experience.
Programming experience and/or coursework in SQL; Python is a plus.
Strong understanding of NBA basketball and NBA statistics.
Demonstrated ability to independently research statistical insights.
Demonstrated ability to develop compelling basketball stories through video or social media.
Detail oriented.
Willing to learn and ask questions.
Effective communication skills, including presentation skills.
Display an aptitude for taking initiative to go above and beyond.
Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
Proficient in college level mathematics and statistics.
Data analysis or data science experience is a plus.
Salary Range $3,200/Biweekly
