Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our team in Wilmington, MA. This engineer will play a critical role in supporting project requirements such as PLC, DCS, HMI/SCADA programming, database management, control panel design, instrumentation specification, and commissioning assistance.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement control systems for industrial processes
Develop control system architecture, schematic diagrams, and documentation
Program PLCs, DCS, RTUs, and HMI/SCADA interfaces
Perform on-site implementation and commissioning
Support instrumentation specification and electrical schematic design
Lead or contribute technically on project teams
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science
5+ years of experience in:
PLC hardware/software (Rockwell Automation)
HMI/SCADA platforms (Rockwell, Ignition)
DCS systems, especially Emerson DeltaV
Instrumentation and control panel design
Familiarity with NEC standards and power distribution under 480VAC
Programming knowledge: VBA, .NET, SQL
Willingness to travel up to 25%
Nice to Have
Experience with industrial networking and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP Profibus, Modbus)
Familiarity with automation protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus)
Knowledge of life science industry compliance (cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11)
Experience with S88 Batch, GAMP5, validation lifecycle methodologies
Strong leadership and client-facing skills
