Sterile Processing Technician - Outpatient Surgery

Shift: Day, Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Regular Full-time.
Job Description: Performs duties related to decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of trays, equipment, and supplies. Maintains cleanliness, observes dress codes, environmental policies, and traffic control.
Experience No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications Graduate of a Sterile Processing and/or Surgical Technology program. 6 months relevant clinical experience.
Education High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification Summary Attain HSPA Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) and/or CBSPD certification within 18 months.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic computer skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Job Responsibilities Demonstrates efficient skills in decontamination, inspection, and cleaning of surgical instruments and devices.
Uses sterile processing chemicals as instructed.
Dons and doffs appropriate personal protection equipment.
Assembles accurate/complete surgical trays.
Builds accurate and timely assembling of case carts for emergent/urgent and elective cases.
Maintains department sterilization records.
Monitors sterilizer test parameters and responds to failures.
Supports operating room functions in sterile core.
Fosters positive working relationships across departments.
Complies with all applicable regulations and safety instructions.
Attends 75% of staff meetings, communication, and job-related educational opportunities.
