Ideal candidate profile:
Seeking an Azure Cloud Architect with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and securing large‑scale cloud infrastructures. This individual combines deep technical expertise in Microsoft Azure with strong architectural vision, business acumen, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Advising agency on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure, including in‑place migrations and refactoring.
Making recommendations on lift‑and‑shift and on‑premise to cloud‑native migrations.
Recommend refactoring within Azure environment.
Conducting testing within Azure to demonstrate a minimal viable product of an architecture.
Understanding available offerings from COV, MSI, and other connected parties.
Making configurations to Azure in support of agency‑level objectives, primarily to Azure‑based services.
Signing a Non‑Disclosure Agreement.
Required Skills & Experience
Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect.
Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals.
Knowledge of single and multi‑cloud strategies and implications.
Experience designing cloud solutions that meet business requirements.
Strong knowledge and experience with Azure network and storage architectures.
Strong knowledge and experience with Azure services (e.g., Azure Key Vault, Entra ID).
Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Functions, Azure Web App/App Service, Containers, micro‑services architecture, and serverless architecture.
Demonstrated knowledge of cloud security principles including zero‑trust, network segmentation, just‑in‑time access, conditional access, etc.
Experience architecting solutions that meet RPO and RTO objectives in Azure.
Ability to write professional documentation, including position papers and architecture documentation.
Experience managing cloud‑based security posture activities, including vulnerability remediation and perimeter defense architecture.
Knowledge and experience in DevOps, including Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
Knowledge of data storage products like SQL Server, Oracle, and non‑relational products like Cosmos DB.
Strong communication skills, able to effectively communicate with technical and business staff.
