The Opportunity: Position Overview The
Category Manager
plays a critical role in driving growth for Dare’s US business unit by transforming data into strategic direction. This individual leads the integration of syndicated data, shopper insights, consumer research, and internal data to inform portfolio, assortment, pricing, promotional, and sell‑in strategies that strengthen category performance and brand share.
This is a highly
analytical and cross‑functional role
partnering with
Sales, Marketing, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), and Innovation
teams to uncover consumer and shopper drivers, develop compelling data‑driven retailer recommendations, and influence key decisions across the revenue organization.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Analyze
syndicated data
(IRI, NielsenIQ, SPINS), panel, retailer, and internal data to identify performance drivers, trends, and growth opportunities.
Integrate consumer and shopper research to understand motivations, usage occasions, and emerging trends that inform brand positioning, innovation, and messaging.
Lead the development of
category stories, line reviews, and assortment recommendations
to strengthen retailer relationships and drive mutual growth.
Partner with Sales, Marketing, RGM, and Innovation to translate insights into actionable strategies across pricing, promotions, and innovation.
Develop and enhance
reporting tools, dashboards, and processes
to improve data consistency, visibility, and decision‑making efficiency.
Conduct specialized analyses supporting business planning, strategy development, and emerging growth initiatives.
What You Will Bring: Required Qualifications
Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
5+ years of experience
in
Category Management, Business Insights, Consumer Insights, Brand Management, or Sales Strategy
within
CPG (food or beverage strongly preferred) .
Proven experience analyzing
syndicated data (IRI, NielsenIQ, SPINS)
and shopper/household panel data (Numerator, Circana).
Hands‑on experience integrating quantitative and qualitative consumer research into commercial and marketing strategies.
Strong
business and financial acumen .
Advanced proficiency in
Excel
and data visualization tools ( Power BI, Tableau, or similar ).
Strong analytical and statistical reasoning with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations.
Familiarity with POS systems, retailer portals, and data harmonization across multiple sources.
Comfortable managing large datasets and building automated reporting tools/dashboards.
Advanced
PowerPoint
skills with the ability to turn data into compelling narratives ( storytelling ).
Strategic thinker with the ability to connect insights to business growth opportunities.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills
with the ability to simplify complex analyses.
Strong collaboration skills across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and RGM.
Proactive problem‑solver with curiosity and a bias for action.
Ability to balance analytical depth with commercial pragmatism.
