Be among the first 25 applicants. Cherokee Nation Businesses is seeking an experienced Planner or Project Manager for Military Construction (MILCON) projects in the Pacific. This position is located at Hickam AFB (JBPHH), Hawaii.
Responsibilities
Manage large construction projects ($5M to $500M) from requirements development through design and construction as part of a headquarters‑level Air Force execution team working closely with mission planners, facility users, the design and construction agent (USACE/NAVFAC), engineering subject matter experts (SMEs), and installation personnel.
Coordinate with leadership and headquarters to develop background papers, briefing slides, respond to quick‑turn requests for information (RFIs), and provide similar HQ support.
Review and analyze UFCs, AFIs, and other guidance documents applicable to design and construction of vertical and horizontal facilities.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (engineering preferred; experience may substitute).
At least three years of relevant experience working with US military/DoD facilities and requirements, preferably with US Air Force facilities.
Experience at a US military headquarters‑level organization in basing, beddowns, or programs in transition.
Experience with all phases of DoD facility development (planning/programming, design, and construction) preferred.
Specific knowledge of DoD construction processes.
Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, complex facility design/construction projects, proactively resolving project challenges.
Understanding of Architectural & Engineering (A&E) utilization and contracts is a plus.
Familiarity with DoD/Air Force software tools for project data, reports, cost estimating, and scheduling is a plus.
Track record of working collaboratively with clients/customers to identify issues and solve problems.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Air Force NACI/SF85 for unescorted access to on‑base facilities.
Must pass pre‑employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
