SAP Extended Warehouse Management Consultant (Hybrid - Sunnyvale, CA)

Contract basis – 3 days on-site, 2 days remote per week in Sunnyvale, CA.
Our customer is a corporation that develops robotic products for minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, they continue to develop new surgical platforms.
Responsibilities
Lead business blueprinting workshops with business units and cross‑functional teams.
Conduct As‑Is/To‑Be discussions and map end‑to‑end business process flows.
Gather requirements from the Warehouse and Shipping departments; analyze needs and propose solutions based on industry best practices.
Configure, develop, and test changes in SAP to support all requirements.
Serve as the primary owner for the overall design and solutioning of SAP WM / SAP S/4HANA EWM, including integration with other SAP modules.
Act as the single point of contact for configuration, development, and data migration in WM and EWM.
Collaborate effectively with MM, QM, PP, and SD teams.
Document newly implemented processes and deliver training to relevant teams.
Adapt quickly to changes in timelines and priorities.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for SAP WM and EWM configurations.
Skills & Qualifications
10+ years of SAP experience.
2+ end‑to‑end implementations with hands‑on configuration in SAP WM.
2+ end‑to‑end implementations with hands‑on configuration in SAP EWM.
Experience integrating SAP WM/EWM with Kardex systems.
Background working in high‑volume distribution centers handling diverse products.
Expertise in cartonization, QIE, quantity classifications, and warehouse order creation and optimization rules.
Strong knowledge of SAP EWM master data, inbound, outbound, internal movements, cycle counting, and kitting.
Experience integrating EWM with shop floor orders and kitting orders.
Warehouse master data and organizational structure setup in WM and EWM.
Complex storage types, putaway, and stock removal strategies (config and BADIs).
Inbound and putaway processes in WM/EWM, including palletization, consolidation, and deconsolidation with handling units.
Outbound shipments and stock removal strategies; experience in handling unit management across all warehouse processes.
Internal warehouse processes: posting change notice, production order staging, kanban material replenishment, intra‑warehouse and inter‑warehouse replenishment.
Replenishment, cycle counting, physical inventory, and warehouse reorganization in EWM.
Cross‑process settings, exception handling, and custom solutions in EWM.
Experience with Post Processing Framework (PPF) for standard and custom definitions.
Project stock management and custom WM movement types.
Wave management and wave templates in EWM.
Batch management, serial number management, SU/HU management in WM.
Cycle counting process and integration with external WMS systems.
Understanding and experience with ITS Mobile / SAP Fiori, RF devices, RF configuration, and queue management.
Outputs, label printing, RFID, 2D & linear scanners.
Development of WM reports and warehouse activity monitor enhancements.
Exposure to slotting and warehouse reorganization.
Integration knowledge across LE, WM, MM, SD, PP, QM, FI, CO.
Experience with LSMW, batch job monitoring/creation, and IDoc monitoring.
Understanding of ABAP debugging, BADIs, function modules, ALV reports, and custom developments.
Collaboration with security teams for roles and authorization.
Daily queue management and resolution in both S/4 and EWM systems.
Experienced in writing detailed Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
Preferred: Experience with TMS integration.
