Responsibilities
Lead technical design tasks for underground structures (tunnels, shafts, stations).
Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
Champion QA/QC for deliverables and reports.
Guide and manage multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
Mentor junior engineers.
Plan and coordinate project activities to meet contract agreements and budgets.
Maintain relationships with senior client management and staff.
Collaborate with inter‑regional lead technical staff.
Assist with client relationship management and project delivery.
Seek new project opportunities and growth initiatives.
Represent Delve Underground in critical business relationships.
Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural engineering (M.S. preferred).
Minimum 20 years of experience in tunnel/underground structure design, including design management and client relations.
California PE license required; SE license or intent to obtain within 1 year strongly preferred.
Experience managing groups of structural engineers.
Experience with public and private projects of varied sizes.
Experience working with governmental, local agencies, and contractors.
Experience developing contract documents, plans, structural details, specifications.
Experience overseeing BIM workflows for underground infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with structural/geotechnical analysis software (FLAC, Plaxis, SAP2000, STRAND7).
Experience with large‑scale alternate delivery construction projects preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Active role in professional organizations; presentations at industry conferences desired.
Willingness to travel as needed.
