Provide direction, supervision, planning, and coordination of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), and Care For Our Common Home programs in the Archdiocese of Chicago, as well as general initiatives of the Office of Human Dignity & Solidarity.
Responsibilities CCHD
Administer the CCHD appeal (annual collection), optimizing accountability and efficiency through transparency and expediting remittances. Includes promotion and communications to raise awareness. Manage CCHD local grant allocations and advise on national grant allocations including: Vetting of applicants through application review and site visits Preparation of funding recommendations and approval materials for Cardinal Cupich Assembling, training, and managing a local volunteer committee Design, coordinate, and build relationships to promote CCHD social justice education and action programs Supervise, onboard, and mentor USCCB-funded intern annually (in addition to other interns, practicum students, pro-bono consultants and/or ministry volunteers). Serve as liaison between Archdiocese of Chicago and national CCHD office including providing periodic reports, attending national/regional meetings, and making recommendations concerning methods of improving and/or facilitating the work of CCHD on the diocesan level.

Design, coordinate, and build relationships to promote CRS social justice education and action programs
Responsibilities Care For Our Common Home
Lead the Care for Our Common Home Ministry in alignment with Catholic Social Teaching and the Laudato Si’ encyclical. Act as the guiding authority for the archdiocesan Care For Our Common Home Committee, including, their work to: Support parishes, schools, and other archdiocesan organizations who are implementing Laudato Si. Develop and facilitate educational programs, workshops, and resources for interested stakeholders Maintain the archdiocesan Laudato Si Action Platform implementation tracking and reporting Evaluate ministry effectiveness and report outcomes to archdiocesan leadership.
Human Dignity and Solidarity Office
In collaboration with the office director, the senior coordinator will support other ministry teams as needed, depending on the season and ministry priorities.
Requirements
B.A. in theology or social science. 1-3 years’ experience of general office procedures, 3-5 years of social ministry, social work, non-profit, education, or related experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to give presentations to small groups, i.e., social justice committees, parish councils, students, etc. Experience communication and collaborating with diverse audiences (parishes, schools, internal departments) preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Understanding of systemic change, community organizing strategies, and economic development initiatives. Passion for Catholic Social Teaching.
Preferred
Ability to give presentations to small groups, i.e., social justice committees, parish councils, students, etc. Experience managing grants, budgets, and appeals Experience leading volunteers, interns, and forming educational materials or campaigns. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, especially in multicultural diocesan settings.
