Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

is looking for a Part‑Time (3 days a week, 8:00‑4:30) Echocardiograph Technologist to join our team, supporting patient care at MedStar Cardiology Associates at McLean. The ideal candidate will be a registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
Primary Duties
Actively participate in the quality assurance program by completing all accrediting body requirements to maintain lab certification.
Ensure equipment and supplies are available by coordinating preventive maintenance programs, scheduling emergency service calls, and ordering necessary supplies.
Assist in coordinating patient care with clinical staff; review the patient schedule at the beginning of each day to ensure appropriate support is available.
Maintain a log of patient data and stored images, entering correct patient demographic information and archiving studies to ensure complete and accurate records.
Send diagnostic reports or study copies when required to ensure timely communication of patient data.
Perform diagnostic ultrasound studies on patients, including M‑mode, two‑dimensional, and stress echocardiograms, following ICAEL guidelines to ensure high‑quality diagnostic studies.
Prepare preliminary diagnostic reports by compiling relevant measurements and data for physician review, interpretation, and signature.
Provide patient instructions and answer questions related to scheduled procedures to properly educate and orient patients.
Recognize and alert physicians to abnormal studies by immediately contacting physicians to discuss and assist with appropriate next steps.
Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED with completion of a Registered Echocardiology program including coursework in Anatomy and Physiology (required).
Associate’s Degree (preferred).
1‑2 years of post‑graduate cardiology experience (preferred).
Prior clinical experience and the performance of at least 100 echocardiogram/doppler examinations with arrhythmia analysis experience (required).
RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) Adult Echocardiography – ARDMS‑AE or CCI.
CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
This position has a hiring range of USD $35.68 – USD $64.71 per hour.
