Overview Yale athletics is seeking a highly motivated, efficient Assistant Athletic Director for Ticketing Operations to join our external team. Priority ticketing responsibilities for this role include managing digital and box office ticket operations for football, women’s basketball, men’s basketball, men’s ice hockey, and men’s lacrosse. The Assistant Athletic Director will also oversee the Ticket Operations Associate, casual and student game day staff, day‑to‑day operations, payroll, and financial reporting.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of game day ticketing operations and cash deposits.

Coordinate with the business office for financial reconciliation.

Oversee game day set up, staffing, and reporting for all ticketed events.

Effectively resolve all customer service issues at all points of sale locations and at athletic events.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all rules and procedures governing complimentary ticket admissions and official/unofficial visit admissions.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all rules and procedures governing the student‑athlete will‑call list.

Establish effective vendor relationships and secure favorable economic terms with all relevant third parties, e.g., ticket agencies.

Over the performance of all relevant external ticket‑operation vendors.

Create and maintain a computer database for accurate accounting/tracking of actual vs. projected sales, event‑level attendance, complimentary tickets, and season‑ticket seating priority.

Set and meet assigned ticket sales P&L projections.

Ensure inventory control, sales methods, cash handling, sales performance expectations, employment conditions, and evaluation.

Maintain timely updates of all facets of the ticketing website.

Strategically designate seat assignments for season‑ticket holders, group ticket sales, and others.

Recommend group ticket packages to senior staff.

Develop a communication plan for distributing information and engaging season‑ticket holders.

Hire and train game day ticketing staff and student workers.

Comply with all NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

Balance multiple tasks with evolving priority levels and adjust focus as needed.

Be extremely organized, meticulous, and possess high aptitude for customer service and conflict management.

Craft clear and concise written and verbal communications for a variety of stakeholders.

Have proficient technical abilities with electronic devices and software systems.

Work nights, weekends, and occasional travel for postseason and tournament events.

Preferred Experience and Education

Experience in ticket operations and/or in an athletics environment.

Strong supervisory or leadership experience.

Knowledge of ticketing analytics and data management.

Experience in ARMs, CSS/Coding, Google Sites, Photoshop, Qualtrics, Product/Service Sales, ScoreShots, and Teamworks.

Principal Responsibilities

Assume primary responsibility for a program, service, activity, operation, or function in an assigned area. Develop objectives, practice, and procedures and identify resources to ensure operational goals are achieved.

Coordinate day‑to‑day operations to achieve designated goals. Ensure effective management and lead the development and implementation of best practices.

Design and implement quality control metrics to identify areas of risk. Analyze, recommend, and implement strategic solutions to minimize risk.

Develop a variety of complex reports and written materials.

Provide guidance to and collaborate with internal and external partners as necessary.

Develop, oversee, and monitor budgets.

Develop and maintain specialized training.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
