Assistant Professor of Practice – Special Education (Fixed Term)

Position: 1.0 Full‑time FTE
Position Summary Portland State University’s College of Education seeks a certified BCBA or BCBA‑D to serve as a BACB Program Coordinator, teach online Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) courses, and lead the BCBA cohort. The role supports instruction, scholarly activities, and service to the university, community, and profession.
Responsibilities
Serve as the BACB Program Coordinator for the fully online ABA/BCBA program.
Teach online courses in the ABA program and related courses.
Conduct review of each student’s coursework and submit attestations to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Serve as Cohort Leader for the BCBA program.
Participate fully as a collaborative teacher, leader, and scholar in the department, college, and university.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Special Education or a related field.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA‑D).
Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and/or experience teaching online.
Knowledge of the updated BABC requirements for BCBA certification.

Total Compensation and Benefits Starting annual salary: $74,016 Salary may be negotiable above this rate based on experience, budget, and approval. Benefits include 95% premium‑paid healthcare, a generous retirement and vacation package, and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse, or dependent at any Oregon Public University.
