to act as the key client interface, ensuring objectives are met through a value?added cost management service. Our clients are located across the Northern Virginia/DC/Southern Maryland Metro region and primarily consist of Data Center and Advanced Manufacturing clientele. Travel to/from site will be required. To succeed you must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable in a client?facing role. The ideal candidate is self?motivated, driven, works both independently and as part of a team, and leads with integrity and a commitment to the purpose, values and vision of Turner & Townsend. Responsibilities: Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle. Provide estimate and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan. Review and collaborate with the design services team and general contractor on cost estimates. Reconcile changes and assist the contractor to ensure data accuracy. Meet with the general contractor and owner project manager to gather status information and prepare cost estimate updates. Prepare written comments to the contractors submissions, including the executive summary. Coordinate all cost information sources for discussions and supplier direct input from NPA, subs and quantities from A/Es. Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact. Work proactively with minimal supervision to resolve scheduling issues. Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, completing timely, accurate cost checking and valuation processes. Participate in post?contract cost variances and change control processes. Manage cost impact, contingency and commitment tracking logs. Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate VE sessions with stakeholders. Develop cost plans and estimates through the design phase, delivering updated cost plans at appropriate milestones. Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering exercises. Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead negotiations on behalf of the client to secure fair contract prices. Perform quantity surveying, cost controls and change?management activities throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure post?contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively. Ensure cost auditing and valuation work is managed effectively and that a robust validation process is in place. Produce monthly cost reports for presentation to the client. Negotiate and agree on final accounts in a timely manner. Compile as?built cost estimate records for benchmarking. Identify, coach and mentor talent to realize their potential and celebrate others success. Display excellence in leadership and service delivery in line with commission conditions. Financial management: utilise internal software to track margin levels and monthly fee/resource forecasts. Implement and maintain internal business?management systems, delivery methodologies and tools. Be a role model driving a one?business culture that balances people, clients, stakeholders and society. SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role and must be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related field. Minimum two years (post?graduate) of relevant experience in a cost?management role within the construction industry. RICS accreditation or working towards it is preferred. Experience leading cost management on medium to large construction projects of medium?to?high complexity. Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred. Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
Salary Range:
$100K?$185K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good?faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary.
