The Senior Mechanical Engineer leads the design, development, testing, and implementation of mechanical systems, components, and equipment. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work across product lines assisting the engineering team with a variety of design and execution tasks. Additionally, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will manage complex engineering projects, provide technical guidance to junior engineers, and ensure designs meet functional, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Roles And Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design work in dryers, dewatering systems, filter presses, filters, process filtration equipment, and rotating machinery

Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using CAD software (e.g. Inventor, Solidworks, and/or AutoCad)

Perform engineering calculations and analyses (stress, thermal, fluid dynamics, tolerance stack‑up, etc.) to validate designs

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including electrical, manufacturing, and quality engineering to ensure product integration and manufacturability

Oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and design iteration based on performance data

Review and approve technical documentation, including specifications, BOMs, and test plans

Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful completion

Provide technical support and troubleshooting to internal and external customers

Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives while providing cost reduction leadership (i.e. interact with manufacturing, vendors, marketing, and engineering teams to reduce costs)

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g. ASME, ISO, ASTM)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or related field

7+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with industrial machinery manufacturing

Possess first‑rate knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor (or SolidWorks), and Vault

Demonstrate skills in mechanical design including knowledge of power transmission systems, machine components, piping, structural, and materials selection relative to rotating equipment, pressure vessels, and conveying equipment

Possess a good understanding of manufacturing processes with emphasis on process equipment including a working knowledge of piping, structural steel, welding, gears, motors, machinery, and fabricating processes

Strong understanding of materials, mechanics, fluid & thermal dynamics with experience utilizing FEA and CFD tools

Familiar with a wide variety of fabrication, machining, and manufacturing methods

Experience with streamlining engineering processes and implementing product and process improvements

Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance analysis

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification

Knowledge of ASME code for pressure vessels
