Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners ("AJCP") is seeking a Senior Vice President, Corporate Accounting to lead the firm’s Corporate Accounting function and support its rapid growth across various investment platforms focused on the hospitality, mixed‑use, and single‑family rental sectors.

ABOUT THE ROLE The SVP, Corporate Accounting will serve as a strategic and operational leader overseeing AJCP’s corporate accounting function. This role will ensure financial integrity, operational excellence, and scalability across AJCP’s corporate entities, while connecting the dots between the firm’s property, fund, and corporate accounting activities to ensure a cohesive financial view of the business. This position requires a leader who can seamlessly balance strategic vision with hands‑on management of the organization’s day‑to‑day financial operations.

The SVP will also partner closely with the Finance team to analyze and communicate the financial story behind the numbers, particularly understanding forecast versus actuals and how fees earned (including development fees, management fees, leasing commissions, etc.) and corporate overheads impact AJCP’s overall financial health.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Strategic Leadership & Oversight

Lead AJCP’s corporate accounting function, overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, monthly and quarterly close processes, and accounting operations for 40+ corporate entities.

Partner closely with the CFO to shape and execute AJCP’s accounting strategy, ensuring processes, reporting, and team capabilities scale with the firm’s growth.

Financial Management & Reporting

Direct the preparation of consolidated corporate financial statements, management reports, and analytical summaries that highlight performance drivers and trends.

Oversee corporate cash management and liquidity planning to ensure operational continuity and fiscal efficiency.

Ensure compliance with company policies and internal control standards, maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and integrity.

Operational Execution

Oversee key day‑to‑day functions including payroll/401k, accounts payable, intercompany allocations, and shared services cost distribution and dive into details as needed.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to drive key projects.

Serve as a subject matter expert on technical accounting matters and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the Corporate Accounting function.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

Oversee the annual audit and tax reporting processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and proactively identifying potential risks, gaps, or improvements in financial controls.

Develop and implement best‑in‑class accounting policies, procedures, and controls for a vertically integrated real estate investment platform.

Manage the banking relationships, including controls around access and signers.

Team Leadership & Development

Serve as a senior financial leader and trusted partner to executive leadership.

Mentor and develop a high‑performing team of four accounting and finance professionals, including a team of outsourced accountants, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements WHO YOU ARE AJCP is seeking a highly‑motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, but disciplined, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading complex corporate accounting operations across multi‑entity organizations, including oversight of financial reporting, payroll, and intercompany allocations and translating accounting insights into strategic business decisions that drive organizational efficiency, scalability, and financial health. This role also requires the following capabilities:

Proven executive‑level leadership in corporate accounting, with the ability to align accounting operations to organizational goals.

Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to senior leadership ownership groups and external stakeholders.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS Required

B.A. or B.S. degree in accounting

15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing corporate accounting operations

Proven experience managing multi‑entity corporate accounting, including payroll, allocations, and consolidated reporting

Big 4 public accounting experience

Preferred

An advanced degree, such as a Masters of Accountancy / MAC or a Masters of Business Administration / MBA

CPA or CPA candidate

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensations, or range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Illinois. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of AJCP’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $200,000-$250,000. Other rewards may include annual bonuses. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
