Job Title Assistant or Associate Professor – Community‑Based Physician Faculty (03‑317‑201)

Overview Assistant/Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at University of Maryland School of Medicine. Non‑tenure track. Share duties between two community‑based program sites: Kaufman Cancer Center at UMMC Upper Chesapeake Medical Center (Bel Air, MD) and Radiation Oncology Center (UM‑SJMC) in Towson, MD.

Key Responsibilities

Provide patient care in community sites, maintaining HDR brachytherapy and LINAC programs.

Facilitate patient volume, actively participate in clinical trials, and develop collaborative relationships with local clinicians.

Deliver teaching: planned lectures to residents, mock oral exams, teaching conferences, medical student education, and annual review courses.

Participate in departmental committees and in the unified EMR system.

Maintain high clinical quality and pursue oncology clinical trial enrollment.

Qualifications

Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology.

Eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.

Medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or equivalent foreign degree).

Strong commitment to patient care, teaching, and teamwork.

Interest or experience in community‑based academic radiation oncology.

Research Opportunities The department leads a Precision Radiation Oncology program that includes translational science, clinical trial support, and medical physics research. Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary research projects.

Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $287,100 – $529,061 (dependent on experience). The range reflects base pay; additional variable compensation may be available. Detailed information is provided upon request.
