About the Position The Department of Anesthesiology at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans seeks a board eligible/board certified anesthesiologist to join the Division of Abdominal Transplant Anesthesia. Previous experience performing liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants is required. Candidates certified in intraoperative TEE (or pursuing certification) are preferred.
Responsibilities
Provide and coordinate patient care in accordance with Ochsner’s core values: Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork, and Excellence.
Lead anesthesia care for liver, kidney, pancreas, and related transplant surgeries, including liver‑kidney, pediatric, split‑liver, living donor, kidney, and kidney‑pancreas procedures.
Collaborate with clinical staff, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal peri‑operative outcomes.
Mentor trainees, participate in teaching, and contribute to educational initiatives.
Engage in clinical investigation, professional service, and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications
Board eligible or board certified in anesthesiology.
Experience performing liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants, preferably during residency or fellowship.
Certification or pursuit of certification in intraoperative TEE.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to teaching, education, and mentorship.
