Functional Responsibilities
Provide curriculum that meets BRN requirements; prepare reports for approval and update faculty position reports.
Assist in recruitment, admission, advanced placement, and NCLEX‑RN applications; prepare evaluation summaries.
Develop orientation processes for new, graduating, and NCLEX‑RN applicants.
Facilitate communication between nursing program, division office, and campus; implement administrative policies.
Resolve staff, faculty, and student problems; provide guidance and follow‑up.
Orient, guide, assign, and assist nursing department staff.
Serve as lead researcher and writer for accreditation reports with BRN and ACEN.
Review and revise college catalog, website, and printed information each year.
Coordinate and administer nursing program budget; support resource allocation, supplies, equipment, and facilities.
Implement and coordinate grant programs; complete progress reports; share statistical data.
Review proposed legislation affecting healthcare professions; communicate changes.
Represent the college to higher‑education institutions, schools, agencies, and community organizations.
Maintain an advisory committee and serve as chairperson.
Organization Management Responsibilities
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulations, policies, and eligibility criteria.
Strengthen processes through assessment, review, planning, and resource allocation.
Train and evaluate personnel; implement procedures for information, assistance, and performance improvement.
Ensure efficient and secure use of facilities; comply with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with IT to improve computer systems and adopt emerging technologies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or administration from an accredited institution.
One year of full‑time administrative experience in a nursing department with budgeting, hiring, and resource allocation.
Two years of teaching experience in a pre‑ or post‑licensure nursing program.
One year of registered nurse clinical experience.
Current California registered nurse license or eligibility for reciprocity.
Desired Qualifications
Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing education or administration.
Experience in community college setting.
Knowledge of ACEN and BRN standards.
Proficient in grant submissions and attainment.
Evidence of implementing diversity, inclusivity, and equity in the workplace.
Salary and Conditions Annual salary starting at $138,600, potentially advanced on a case‑by‑case basis. Salary increases are granted each year until Step F ($160,668). This is a full‑time, 12‑month educational administrator position with an initial one‑year contract subject to renewal and board approval.
