Job Description We are seeking a Benchtop Support Associate to provide hands‑on support for laboratory benchtop equipment and related systems. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge of benchtop instruments commonly used in scientific, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical lab environments. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration assistance, and coordination with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day‑to‑day support for benchtop laboratory instruments and devices.
Perform basic troubleshooting, triage, and issue resolution for lab equipment.
Assist in setup, installation, and configuration of common benchtop devices.
Coordinate with vendors for repairs, preventive maintenance (PM), and calibration.
Ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely for scientists and lab personnel.
Maintain logs of service activities, equipment issues, replacements, and PM schedules.
Support instrument qualification processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) as required.
Assist with equipment inventory tracking and asset management.
Follow all laboratory safety, compliance, and quality procedures.
Document incidents, resolutions, and equipment status updates as per SOPs.
Ensure equipment labels, calibration stickers, and records are accurate and up to date.
Provide responsive, customer‑focused support to researchers and lab staff.
Collaborate with facilities, EH&S, IT, and vendor partners as needed.
Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Hands‑on knowledge of benchtop laboratory instruments (centrifuges, pH meters, balances, microscopes, water baths, incubators, etc.).
Understanding of basic troubleshooting steps for scientific instruments.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.
Attention to detail and strong documentation habits.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting equipment in life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical labs.
Familiarity with GLP/GMP environments.
Knowledge of calibration and qualification procedures.
Technical training or certification related to laboratory equipment.
