Position: Medical Director / Associate Veterinarian
Goleta Airport Pet Hospital is a full‑service small animal veterinary hospital located near Goleta, California. We seek a compassionate and skilled Medical Director and Associate General Practice Veterinarian (DVM) to join our team.
Position Overview As Medical Director you will lead clinical care, support practice management, and collaborate with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager to maintain high standards of veterinary services.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient exams and diagnostic work‑ups.
Provide client communication and education.
Perform surgical and dental procedures as needed.
Maintain accurate medical records and pharmacy inventory.
Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities.
Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily operations.
Attend daily rounds and ensure high standards are upheld.
Participate in practice management updates and training.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications (Required)
DVM degree from an accredited college/university.
Current state veterinary license.
DEA registration.
1+ year of experience in a veterinary practice.
Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
Excellent surgical and dental skills.
Team‑oriented and exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
Commitment to high‑quality compassionate care.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderate physical work.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Advanced clinical knowledge across systems.
Problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
Excellent communication with clients and staff.
Business acumen and understanding of practice finances.
Commitment to continuing education.
Experience with ethics in veterinary medicine.
