Under general supervision, provides care for pregnant and post‑partum adolescent and adult patients.

Education Certified Nurse Practitioner Program OR Physician Assistant Program

Experience OB experience preferred

License Current certification with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Certified Nurse Midwife OR Certified Women’s Health or Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner OR Licensed Physician Assistant

Completion of "Healthcare Provider" CPR course.

Valid agreement with Chairman of dept and appropriate Board.

Skills High analytical ability to assess patients and implement appropriate interventions.

Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, physicians, patients, and families.

Ability to perform as Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room.

Patient & Workplace Safety Knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.

Patient Population Competency in delivery of care and applying knowledge to meet age‑specific needs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Assume responsibility for the initial evaluation and treatment of admitted and triage obstetrical patients.

Perform admission history and physical with appropriate documentation.

Write standard orders in accordance with hospital policy.

Write appropriate orders related to pre‑existing conditions.

Discuss physical and/or emotional findings that may interfere with obstetrical care with attending physician and nursing staff.

Evaluate patient progress and collaborate with attending physician to alter treatment modalities.

Make daily rounds on assigned patients.

Write daily progress notes documenting pertinent patient progress and treatment regime.

Write orders appropriate to the patient’s care requirements in compliance with existing protocols.

Establish medical diagnoses in compliance with protocols.

Refer to attending physician or designee for problems requiring consultation and document on progress note.

Make immediate referral of acute or life‑threatening conditions to attending physician or designee; document physical findings and treatment plan.

Perform technical functions according to the contract and document results.

Report to physician or designee any abnormal findings related to the same.

Monitor patient response to technical function performed and document.

Contribute to safe and quality care.

Perform as Surgical First Assistant on C‑sections, tubal ligations, and cervical sutures.

Perform clinical functions according to contract and medical by‑laws.

Perform activities to meet patient/family educational needs.

Participate actively in health teaching of patient and family, including preventive health care and current medical condition and treatment regime; evidence by documentation on progress note and/or established flow sheet.

Plan and review home care instructions with patient and family if needed, including community resources and hospital‑based ancillary services.

Pay Range $80,363.74 – $133,809.65 (final salary offer based on qualifications, education, experience, and organizational alignment)
