Job Summary Ryan Companies US, Inc has an ongoing need for Project Engineers to join our team in San Diego. In this entry‑level construction role, you will support the project team in completing a designated project while actively learning Ryan's processes, procedures, and business policies. You will gain hands‑on experience in both field and office operations while working on a construction site.
Responsibilities
Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back‑check the shop drawing approval process.
Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
Perform additional assignments per Superintendent’s/Project Manager’s direction.
Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.
Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have approximately one to two years of experience; specifically knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing. A bachelor's degree in a construction‑related field is required. You must be able to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost‑coding systems. You also must be able to assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively.
4‑year college degree, preferably in a construction‑related field.
General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
Ability to calculate mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost‑coding systems.
Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively.
Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel, and/or relocate, as needed to execute projects.
Minimum six‑month jobsite experience before progressing to Project Management Path.
Compensation The base pay range is $75,000 to $107,000/Annually. The salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
