What’s the role?
The Field Support Engineer II operates as a mobile technical specialist, installing, repairing, upgrading and performing preventative maintenance on ZEISS Meditec instrumentation across the United States.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Diagnose and repair all designated products across multiple territories through continuous travel.
Manage travel schedule and customer visits, ensuring coverage of extensive geographic regions.
Complete and submit daily field service reports from customer sites.
Submit weekly expense reports in accordance with corporate policies.
Maintain spare parts inventory while traveling.
Support revenue growth via promotion and retention of service agreements.
Provide professional customer interface across diverse regions.
Deliver customer training on equipment usage and maintenance.
Additional Responsibilities
Maintain company‑issued test equipment and support tools; install and service equipment at trade shows, conferences, and customer events nationwide and internationally.
Do You Qualify?
Minimum 3 years experience in Electronics, Fine Mechanics, Optics, or Medical Field Service with substantial travel.
BS in Electronics, Engineering, Computer Technology, or a related field preferred.
A+ and Network+ certifications preferred.
Self‑directed, independent work ethic with excellent adaptability.
Strong verbal and written communication for remote collaboration.
Competent with mobile technology and remote access systems.
Ability to pass training to service fine mechanics and optics.
Advanced project and time‑management skills for coordinating multiple territories.
Valid passport for international travel.
Special Demands
Continuous overnight travel by automobile and air across all assigned territories.
Average of 6‑8 hours driving or flying per day.
Must possess a valid driver’s license with exemplary driving record.
Comfortable with extended periods away from home and varied accommodations.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at airports and customer sites.
Physical stamina required for daily standing, walking and traveling.
Flexibility for weekend and holiday travel as customer needs dictate.

Hourly pay range: $32.00 – $40.00.
