Scientist, Immunology Cell Therapy Discovery

This role focuses on active laboratory involvement and collaboration to advance cell therapy discovery projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork skills, a willingness to learn, and a humble attitude.
Accountabilities
Conducts hands‑on drug discovery research experiments
Works collaboratively in a matrix and fast‑paced environment
Assesses and reports data with a clear understanding of its implications within the overall context of drug discovery
Maintains a proven understanding of approaches to drug discovery and applies a broader functional knowledge of the procedures used by diverse project groups to support the department where needed
Provides technical instruction to the team and allocates administrative work where possible
Ensures own work, and work of peers, is compliant with relevant internal AstraZeneca standards and external regulations
Essential Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in a relevant scientific field or significant relevant experience and knowledge of Cellular Therapy, Immunology, and Immun‑mediated Diseases from working in the life science sector.
In vivo skillset including animal handling, mouse tumor models, standard routes of dosing and engraftment
Experience in developing cellular therapies including CAR‑T, TCR‑T, and/or TIL therapies
Proficiency in transfection/transduction, expansion, and cell culture of primary human/mouse T cells and cell lines
Hands‑on expertise in T‑cell functional characterization assays such as in vitro cytotoxicity, proliferation, cytokine measurement
Proficiency with multi‑parameter flow cytometry (Immunostaining, acquisition, and analysis)
Desirable Skills/Experience
Background in drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical industry
Advanced degree in related field

Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short‑term incentive bonuses, equity‑based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
