We are seeking a Pediatric Dentist to provide dental services within our Pediatric Dental program. This role involves delivering care to patients aged 0-18, focusing on SEARHC beneficiaries and children eligible for Denali Kid Care (Alaska Medicaid for Children).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care to children, develop dental health awareness, and act as an advisor to general providers on pediatric oral health.
Communicate effectively with patients and staff, submit reports timely, and provide care in villages as directed.
Additional Duties:
Manage a fast-paced environment with apprehensive patients, requiring patience and organization.
Flexibility to work during lunch hours, after hours, and emergencies.
Participate in village field trips and perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision of staff is required.
Qualifications:
DDS or DMD from an accredited program.
Pediatric Dental Residency from an accredited program.
Active dental license in Alaska or another US state, with Alaska preferred.
Experience & Knowledge:
Knowledge of evidence-based dentistry and HIPAA regulations.
Skills & Abilities:
Diagnostic, treatment, and clinical skills.
Ability to follow infection control and safety protocols, diagnose dental issues, and treat accordingly.
Travel:
Occasional travel to remote villages via jet, ferry, or small aircraft.
Other:
Must be able to sit for extended periods and have good hand dexterity.
Work may be emotionally and physically challenging.
