Security Architect - North Central region (Chicago, IL)

Security Architects at GuidePoint are experienced, autonomous professionals who are involved in the entire security opportunity lifecycle, from pre-sales to delivery. They have the freedom to scope and deliver engagements and must continually expand their knowledge of the latest security technologies. The position is remote/virtual, but candidates must reside in the Greater Chicago area or be willing to travel 75% of the time within our North Central territory. Position Requirements: Must be located in Chicago, IL, and open to local/regional travel for client and partner events. Minimum 5 years in an enterprise security role involving architecture and assessment. Proficiency in multiple security technologies: network security, NGFW, cloud security, Data Security, Vulnerability & Risk Management, Proxy, EDR, IAM, SIEM & Analytics. Strong listening skills to understand client issues and collaborate on solutions. Ability to research emerging vendors and technologies. Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Proactive in improving and creating security offerings. Ability to produce technical and business collateral tailored to different audiences. Work from remote/virtual environment when not visiting clients or attending events. Travel within Chicago metro area required. Role split: 70% presales, 30% delivery. Technical Requirements: Deep proficiency in security technologies: network security, NGFW, cloud security, DLP, CASB, Proxy, IAM, SIEM/Analytics. Experience designing enterprise security solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills in networking and security. Proficiency with Windows, Nix, OSX, and other operating systems. Knowledge of advanced security concepts: Zero Trust, defense in depth. Preferred: Experience with Symantec DLP, ForeScout, Palo Alto, Check Point, CrowdStrike, Splunk, AWS/Azure/GCP. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years in security engineering or internal security programs. Pre-sales experience preferred.
