Our client is seeking a Product Development Manager to manage freelancers and product development processes and support sales and sourcing efforts (trade shows, customer meetings, etc.). This position requires knowledge of product development processes and sample coordination, a customer service mindset and ability to organize many tasks for timely completion. This position provides critical operations support to sales and sourcing efforts. This is a crucial role in the coordination of the product development process from ideation to sampling and customer presentations. It reports directly into the Director of Product Management.

Salary range: $80,000.

Responsibilities

Manage the sample development process from sample request through sample delivery including tracking artwork production timelines and technical packet review for submission.

Manage freelancer relationships and deliverables to meet PD calendar needs.

Review technical product specifications for accuracy and uploading to overseas partners.

Create departmental templates and presentations to maximize efficiencies.

Maintain the Digital Artwork and Packaging Asset library.

Prepare PowerPoint customer presentations as deadlines demand.

Attend and communicate customer meeting recaps and revisions of design/development with Sourcing and Sales partners.

Collaborate with Head of PD and Sourcing on fulfilling sample requests.

Assist with sample collection, merchandising or other activities in preparation for trade shows.

Perform continual in-store comparison shopping and photography of seasonal retailer sets as requested by executive team.

Manage in-house mock-ups as needed per senior management and seasonal markets.

Ensure that the sample development process is consistently managed in a timely and high-quality manner.

Provide a high level of timely coordination and collaboration with freelancers and designers.

Consistently manage and organize priorities and deadlines.

Demonstrate an ability to consistently deliver on time and with high quality.

Provide a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Perform thorough and timely management and updates of processes for delivery of work product.

Consistently and regularly meets minimum required level of performance for all position competencies.

Demonstrate an open-minded personality and be easy to work with while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.

Conduct market research, competitive (comp) shopping, and analysis to support design and product development initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or another related field.

Experience in the Home category.

Design / Creative background a plus.

3 or more years increasing responsibility in product development or product merchandising.

Adobe Creative Suite proficiency.

Microsoft Office expertise.
