Business Development Associate – Detroit Market
Tenet Healthcare – a leading health system and services platform with 65 hospitals and 510 outpatient centers – is seeking a Business Development Associate to grow its network in the Detroit market.

Job Summary A Business Development Associate is responsible for network development and outreach to primary care, post‑acute and non‑Tenet acute care facilities. The role involves educating providers about Tenet's services to increase utilization.
Primary Desired Outcome Increase the selection of hospital services by providers via post‑acute care facilities, the primary care setting and non‑Tenet acute care facilities.
Primary Target Audience Providers who do not currently have a working relationship with Tenet, or who utilize Tenet services only partially, sourced from primary care, post‑acute care and non‑Tenet acute care facilities.
Responsibilities
Plan and conduct in‑person visits with key stakeholders across the Detroit market to increase selection of hospital/market services.
Evaluate physician referral patterns and trends for market facilities’ service lines.
Research providers to understand decision‑making behind hospital selection.
Conduct face‑to‑face sales meetings with clients, highlighting service line attributes and outcomes.
Identify and mitigate internal and external obstacles to growth and retention.
Communicate client feedback and partner with market resources to resolve issues.
Prepare and present sales reports, identifying trends, lessons learned, opportunities and areas for improvement.
Modify and execute business development tactics based on client and facility leader feedback.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the health system, hospital, and provider landscape.
Document all client engagement in the CRM tool daily.
Support key initiatives requiring network development as directed by leadership.
Perform all duties with high ethical standards and adherence to company policies.
Qualifications Education
Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Experience
At least 3 years of experience in health system physician relations, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices.
Other Requirements
Success in a marketing/sales role.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Travel within the market; Motor Vehicle Records check required.
