Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee financial operations and reporting for project-based activities. This role is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and requires an experienced, detail-oriented individual who can ensure compliance with accounting standards while driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of project accounting practices. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to review costs, revenue recognition, and adherence to accounting standards.
- Analyze financial data to create variance reports that assess project performance and profitability.
- Manage billing, collections, and contract-related financial matters for multiple projects.
- Supervise and mentor project accounting staff, providing training and conducting performance reviews.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance in project accounting processes.
- Facilitate audits by preparing accurate financial documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency in project accounting operations.
- Utilize accounting and project management software to monitor project costs, invoicing, and financial reporting. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- In-depth understanding of project accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Prior experience in a project-based industry such as construction, consulting, IT, or engineering.
- Knowledge of month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entries.
- Experience with account reconciliations and financial statement audits.
