We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Accounting Manager to join our client's finance team at a publicly traded manufacturing company. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations and financial reporting, with a strong focus on cost accounting in a manufacturing setting.- Standard Cost Accounting: Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costs for all manufactured products, including labor, overhead, and material components.
- Cost and Variance Reporting: Prepare detailed manufacturing cost and variance reports (e.g., purchase price variance, material usage, labor efficiency, overhead spending variance), providing insightful analysis to operations management.
- Financial Reporting: Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements for a publicly traded company.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of up to four accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Inventory & Fixed Assets: Oversee the accounting for inventory valuation (including cycle counts and physical inventories) and fixed assets.
- General Ledger & Controls: Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensure strong internal controls and SOX compliance across all accounting functions.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
HOW YOU WILL STAND OUT
Experience:- Minimum of 8 plus years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated expertise in standard cost accounting within a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Solid experience with financial reporting for a publicly traded company is highly desirable.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Software Skills: Experience with large-scale ERP systems is required. Experience with SAP is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Certification (Preferred): CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred but not required.
