Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers, Unison designs, manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world. As a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in new product development, you will be directly involved in designing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes for innovative products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product designs into efficient, high-quality production methods while ensuring alignment with safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) priorities. In this role, you will be driving process improvements, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges, and contributing to the successful launch of new products. You will also be developing and refining workflows, utilizing data-driven approaches to enhance efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products and technologies from bid and proposal through hand-off to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Quality, and Supply Chain, to ensure manufacturability and quality of new products.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety and quality.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new manufacturing technologies and processes.
- Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, etc. in support of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and lead manufacturing reviews to provide feedback on manufacturability and process improvements.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities for manufacturing issues.
- 2+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering role
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and Lean manufacturing principles and tools such as Kaizen, Standard Work, and Hoshin Kanri
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis techniques
- Familiarity with CAD software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
