Overview
Operating within the core values and operating principles of the organization, as a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at AAA Life Insurance Company, you will design and build business-critical infrastructure. You will leverage the global scale, elasticity, automation, and high-availability features of the AWS platform. Your responsibilities will include building solutions with EC2, VPC, Terraform, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, Service Catalog, Control Tower, and other AWS services. You will work across various areas including web applications, enterprise applications, and data analytics. Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and monitor infrastructure in public clouds (AWS, Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Understand Infrastructure as a Service, Infrastructure as Code, and related concepts on public cloud platforms. Manage and develop Terraform scripts to deploy infrastructure and applications on AWS and Azure. Design, orchestrate, implement, and support secure and scalable infrastructure using IaaS, PaaS, and on-premise platforms. Support core AWS platform architectures, including organization and account design, VPC, subnet segmentation, backup, and disaster recovery strategies. Automate environment and application deployment using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Configure network connectivity options such as Direct Connect and VPN. Optimize AWS costs and manage cloud resources effectively. Create and manage gold images/AMIs. Set up IAM users and groups using Terraform. Maintain the availability of critical AWS cloud infrastructure, including configuration changes to AWS services and shared resources. Develop and support automation solutions for source code deployment and configuration management. Manage cloud environments in accordance with security guidelines. Deploy and debug cloud initiatives following best practices throughout the development lifecycle. Educate teams on new cloud-based initiatives and provide necessary training. Configure multi-factor authentication on virtual and hardware devices. Follow change management processes for production environment updates. Resolve help desk tickets related to assigned responsibilities, utilizing advanced problem analysis skills. Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and irregular hours. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3 years in systems engineering/infrastructure development and 5 years with cloud platforms. Preferred certifications include AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect. Solid experience with IAM, EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, SES, Route 53, Lambda, AWS regions, Multi-AZ deployments, Systems Manager, CloudWatch, Terraform, VPC Peering, and VPNs. Deep expertise in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code services. Additional helpful knowledge includes automation tools, networking (subnetting, routing, security groups, load balancing). 5-10 years of cloud services experience, with at least one AWS certification. Proficiency in scripting and developing AWS environments as code. Experience with security groups, IAM, CloudWatch, debugging, and tracing on AWS. Experience with databases like SQL, MySQL, Postgres, and related data stores. Strong skills with Git and JSON. Experience with VPC, DNS, CDN, load balancing, and auto-scaling. 3-5 years of on-premise experience, including: Solarwinds enterprise monitoring and alerting. Knowledge of Windows Server and Red Hat Linux. Experience with VMWare ESX and vSphere. Maintaining storage and hyper-converged systems.
