Job Description: Technical Lead Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead / Software Engineer to lead a critical engagement for our client in the environmental services industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both L2/L3 application support with ITIL practices and technical design according to business functional requirements and technical best practices for resiliency, performance and lowest possible cost of ownership. Experience with environmental services and fleet management domains, will be helpful. This role involves close collaboration with product owners, business stakeholders, and development teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs. Key Responsibilities: L2/L3 Support Lead and Onsite Coordinator Provide onsite Support from critical production issues in Java and AWS environments. Perform and lead incident management including diagnosis, resolution and root cause analysis Ensure SLA’s are met and maintained Offshore Team coordination Coordinate and collaborate with the offshore leads and Scrum master for day-to-day development and support activities Ensure clear communication between the onsite and offshore teams for smooth operations. Track and report on offshore team progress, provide guidance and ensure alignment with business priorities. Product Management: Work directly with the Product Owner and BA to: Understand functional expectations and conduct technical grooming of user stories Align development team priorities with business priorities and commitments Recommend enhancements to existing functions Technical Leader Responsibilities: Represent the development and support teams in all Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Lead the development team by removing impediments and ensuring they have the resources and information needed to meet sprint goals. Track and report on key delivery metrics, such as story points delivered, planned vs. actual story points, team productivity, quality, and defect rates. Manage and maintain the Jira board, ensuring accurate and up-to-date tracking of team progress and work items. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact between the development team and business stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication. Manage stakeholder expectations, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or changes in requirements. Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements, demonstrate progress, and validate solutions. Preferred Qualifications: 9+ years of experience in a combined Technology Lead L2/L3 application support/monitoring and software engineering role Proven experience in a production support role, with expertise in Java and AWS. Strong understanding of core AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, etc. Hands-on experience with Java-based application development and troubleshooting. Experience in coordinating offshore support and development teams. Ability to understand and articulate business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on resolving issues quickly and effectively. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders. Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and performance monitoring using Service Now or similar tools Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a fast-paced environment using tools like JIRA and Confluence Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Location: Houston, Texas (work from the office a minimum of four days per week) Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits package.
