As an IT Engineer, you'll play a key role in
providing Tier II support
across multiple large
enterprise environments , including
Windows
and
Linux-based networks . Your work will span multiple security enclaves in a
hybrid Windows & RHEL
environment, and you'll be critical in ensuring the smooth operation of key systems. Your primary responsibilities will include: System Administration & Advisory:
Manage
Windows
and
Linux
workstations, both EVDI and physical, ensuring efficient and reliable operations. Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution:
Investigate and troubleshoot application functionality, performance, and crashes, working collaboratively with teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively. User Experience Improvement:
Identify and analyze user performance issues, collaborating with external teams to enhance the overall user experience. Customer Support:
Provide
Tier II incident resolution
for
Linux and Windows applications , offering remote desktop support and escalating issues as necessary. Proactive Solutions:
Identify short-term workarounds and long-term solutions to system incidents, responding to service desk and team requests with speed and precision. Collaboration & Communication:
Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and external stakeholders, working within both small and large team environments. Incident Management:
Lead initial triage, response, and notifications for incidents, participating in critical projects as needed. What We're Looking For:
We are seeking an IT professional with the
technical expertise
and
problem-solving abilities
to thrive in a challenging environment. To succeed in this role, you should have: A
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or a related field (or equivalent technical training/work/military experience). 3+ years of experience
in systems administration, with a strong background in both
Windows and Linux environments . Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
clearance is
required . An
appropriate DoD Information Assurance (IA) certification
(such as
CompTIA Security+ CE ,
SSCP , or
CCNA-Security ) is necessary, with
CompTIA Security+ CE
being the preferred certification. Candidates must obtain the
DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Training
within
6 months
of hire. Experience with key technologies:
Active Directory Administration ,
DNS ,
DHCP ,
DFS ,
LDAP . Windows 10 ,
Server 2012 , and
Server 2016 . Application troubleshooting
(Outlook, Excel, Word, JAVA, Internet Explorer). Linux Operating Systems . Familiarity with
ServiceNow ,

ticketing processes . Understanding of
ITIL v3
or higher.
