Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO-S)
Location: Fort Meade, MD
This role requires an
Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
and begins
immediately . The position leads cybersecurity policy development, compliance efforts, and security oversight across the full system lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols.
Ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, FISMA, JSIG, DAAPM; support and maintain ATO.
Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans (ACAS, SCAP, STIGs); manage POA&M; oversee configuration and change control.
Integrate security requirements into the SDLC; maintain SSPs and authorization documentation; manage systems in eMASS or equivalent.
Coordinate incident response and reporting; monitor logs and network traffic; investigate breaches and recommend corrective actions.
Advise system owners and stakeholders; collaborate with ISSMs, ISSEs, PMs, and AOs; deliver security awareness training.
Requirements
Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
Senior-level experience supporting classified systems as an ISSO or similar role.
Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST frameworks, and federal cybersecurity requirements.
Experience with ACAS, SCAP, STIGs, configuration management, and eMASS.
