Your Mission
As a Senior Linux Systems Administrator, you will play a vital role in implementing, maintaining, and securing critical IT systems. You will manage day‑to‑day system operations, provide Tier 2 escalation support, implement security patches, and collaborate with ISSOs and ISOs to ensure systems remain secure and compliant. Your deep technical knowledge and experience across Linux and Windows platforms will support architecture and operations at scale.
In this highly collaborative environment, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your problem‑solving skills and system administration expertise while supporting some of the most impactful government initiatives in the Intelligence Community.
You Will Excel in This Role If You Are:
Experienced in Linux/UNIX system administration and troubleshooting
Skilled in patch management and system hardening
Familiar with performance optimization and capacity planning
Confident supporting Tier 2 escalations and resolving complex issues
Knowledgeable in configuration management and IT compliance frameworks
Comfortable working across platforms (Linux, UNIX, and Windows)
Effective at coordinating with security and system stakeholders
A Day in the Life Of:
Implementing, maintaining, and securing enterprise IT systems
Monitoring and resolving issues across servers, storage, and network devices
Applying IAVA patches and maintaining compliance documentation
Performing Tier 2 support for escalated issues and coordinating resolution
Collaborating with ISSOs and ISOs for configuration and security approvals
Supporting POA&M milestones and compliance reporting
Troubleshooting and analyzing system integration and performance
Must Have:
TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
15 years of system administration experience in similar environments
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree)
6 years of experience with IT Service Management (ITSM)
ITIL 4 platform certification
Proficiency in Linux/UNIX and Windows system administration
Strong experience in patching, compliance, and issue resolution
Nice to Have:
Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, etc.)
Exposure to cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, OpenStack)
Working knowledge of network protocols and firewalls
Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl for automation
Experience with log analysis tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK)
Prior work in DoD/IC environments supporting classified systems
