Job Overview We are seeking a Cyber Security Specialist – Mid Level for Insider Threat Management and Analysis in the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Insider Threat Management and Analysis Center (DITMAC) on a full‑time exempt W‑2 basis, located in the Mid‑Atlantic region (Quantico, VA). The role supports DoD security, counterintelligence, and insider threat programs.

Responsibilities

Monitor network activity and digital behavior for indicators of potential insider threats and vulnerabilities.

Adise non‑IT professionals on Department of Defense network standards to facilitate the deployment of insider threat tools.

Coordinate with a wide range of organizations to promote technical solutions that meet mission requirements.

Provide expertise in security operations, penetration testing, or threat hunting as applicable.

Assist in counterintelligence, insider threat, or law‑enforcement investigations.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of classified and unclassified systems and Government/Industry standards/requirements.

Experience advising security professionals on emerging cyber threats.

Minimum 8 years of experience within the DOD Intelligence Community.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Knowledge of both offensive and defensive cyber capabilities.

Experience with user activity monitoring (UAM) software and processes.

Expertise in at least one of the following functional areas: Security Operations; Penetration Testing; Threat Hunting.

Demonstrated knowledge of state, local, and federal cyber trends, developments, standards, frameworks, and regulations.

Experience in assisting counterintelligence, insider threat, or law‑enforcement investigations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Minimum eight years of experience advising security professionals on emerging cyber threats.

Minimum eight years of experience working within the DOD Intelligence Community.

Skills

Proficiency in cybersecurity tools, forensic analysis, and threat intelligence systems.

Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Ancillary Details Due to the sensitive nature of the work, all employees must hold or be eligible for a Top‑Secret clearance. A U.S. citizenship requirement applies. Background checks and drug testing may be required.
