Responsibilities
Manage and work on projects in the Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning (Traffic) Group in Southern California and in other areas served by NV5
Develop new talent
Build client base in both the public and private sectors with focus on diversity of services
Pursue work in the following areas: traffic impact studies, signal studies, transportation plans, sub-area studies, freight studies, bike/ped plans, corridor studies, parking plans, traffic signal design, timing, ITS, safety studies, and the like
Be a subject matter expert and contact for other NV5’s offices
Most frequent and essential work activities
Interact with clients from project startup to completion
Complete and/or oversee projects on time, within budget, and of the highest quality.
Prepare proposals and contracts
Market NV5 to existing and potential clients and maintain positive client relationships
Be a resource for other NV5 transportation, civil, and other such groups
Represent NV5 at professional functions
Mentor and train staff
People managed by this position
Four full-time engineers, one part-time engineer

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or an advanced degree in City or Urban Planning
California PE
7-10+ years of directly related professional work experience
Leadership skills, including organizational leadership, fiscal management, and communication
10+ years of experience in increasing roles of responsibility
Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal
Business development
Creative problem solver
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
The pay range for this California position is $187,000- $200,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162.
