Job overview and responsibilities In this role, you will act as the principal support for the Fleet Manager, delivering in-depth analysis and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic long-term reliability initiatives. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, collaborating with industry peers to identify and implement best practices from other operators and performing analysis to help define strategic direction and reporting to leadership.
As a key member of the Fleet Program, you will tackle complex challenges across multiple organizations. You will analyze and communicate essential information on key operational and technical performance indicators, identify major reliability and cost drivers, and address opportunities, threats, and significant fleet issues. Additionally, you will respond to ad hoc requests from both stakeholders and the Fleet Manager, ensuring alignment and progress toward our strategic goals.
Solutions:
Support the Fleet Manager to help develop strategies for execution of initiatives to drive overall fleet performance. Helps review Fleet top D&C reliability drivers, PIREPs, and OOS, working with key stakeholders to aid in solution search and assist in the compilation, maintenance and execution of a strategic roadmap. Demonstrate the Closed Loop Reliability Process in all mitigations and make recommendations to the Fleet Manager and external stakeholders based on mitigation performance. Perform analysis and develop SOPs to support the assigned fleet
Corporate Communication:
Compile and maintain white papers / newsletters on top driving issues / leadership requests to ensure unity in communication. Collaborate closely with other internal stakeholders to drive fleet initiatives as part of the fleet management team. Identify and elevate key issues to the 737 Fleet Manager for actioning. Keep a RAIL for fleet-related actions, ensuring that updates are made and accountability is upheld
Tactical & Operational:
Fact Finding – Identify events / series of events that lead to operational interruptions or significant events and provide comprehensive and conclusive, fact-based analysis and recommendations to the Fleet Manager of events and series of events that lead to the impactful item
Industry:
Represent United externally & highlight United’s interests on various industry committees and interface with OEM activities related to the fleet type, whilst understanding and anticipating current and emerging global issues for the assigned fleet. Identify and build strategic partnerships with fellow operators to enhance operational reliability and foster a culture of shared learning & support
NOTE: This position is based at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL and considered as a hybrid work schedule, in-office 3 days.
Qualifications What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Engineering, Mechanical/Aerospace or related field
3 years of relevant experience with Fleet Management, Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Data Analytics, and Project Management
Experience in Technical Operations, Flight Operations, Aircraft system level design knowledge, Predictive Maintenance
Leadership level presentation
Complex problem solving, strong emotional intelligence, project management, change management
Communication & collaboration skills across varying levels within the company with the ability to take complex information and convey simply and logically
Business Acumen
Expertise in risk management and mitigation strategies
Highly proficient skills in indirect influence
Must be willing and able to work at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
