Location: San Francisco, CA. Pay Range: $33.00 to $60.00 per hour.

About the Role The Autonomous Vehicle Technician maintains and repairs electric autonomous vehicles, ensuring safety and reliability. Key tasks include diagnosing issues, performing inspections, documenting repairs, and collaborating with teammates.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and required repairs on electric vehicles.
Inspect and perform initial vehicle set up for autonomous fleet operation and testing.
Collaborate with AutoNation and Waymo associates and partner with teammates to improve processes and expedite workflow.
Document requested repairs and findings in a specialized service platform.
Perform high‑quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately.
Conduct multi‑point inspections and system checks, making appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
Provide guidance to technician team and effectively communicate with associates regarding required service and parts needs.
Perform all repairs according to work instructions and document results.
Operate all equipment in the Service Center safely, following AutoNation’s Safety Standards for personal protective equipment.
Inspect and test all work performed as a Quality Control (QC) measure as soon as jobs are completed.
Maintain an inventory of technician tools not normally inventoried by the Service Department.
Keep abreast of technical information and participate in offered training classes as appropriate.
Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations affecting Service Center operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA guidelines.
Gain superior product knowledge to provide high‑quality repairs.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three+ years of automotive experience.
Electric Vehicle experience a plus.
Hybrid or EV training and experience a plus.
Automotive technical training.
ASE Certifications preferred.
Have tools.
Must have a valid, in‑state driver’s license with an acceptable, safe driving record.
Ability to operate an automobile.
