Key Responsibilities:
Shape the Game Plan (Data Strategy and Roadmap)
Partner with business stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive data roadmap centered on 1) establishing a single source of truth, 2) enabling data‑driven decision‑making, and 3) improving organizational transparency and accountability
Assess and evolve the Orioles' data tech stack (CRM; data warehouse that integrates Ticketing, CRM, Concessions, and Marketing data; etc.) to enhance capabilities, efficiency, and adoption across the business
Ensure data infrastructure, tools, and processes comply with MLB data governance and privacy policies
Guide Big Decisions (Analytics and Insights)
Design and deliver executive‑level dashboards and reports that track KPIs and provide timely visibility into business performance
Lead predictive modeling efforts to inform strategic decisions (e.g., fan retention, purchase propensity, pricing optimization)
Execute high‑impact analyses across Ticketing (primary and secondary market Ticketing strategy), Concessions & Retail, and Marketing, including pricing, product mix, and buyer‑type insights, and distill findings into concise and actionable recommendations
Support Sponsorship initiatives, including category and asset valuation analyses, consumer and brand research, and performance tracking and reporting
Strengthen Collaboration, Efficiency, and Impact
Standardize reporting frameworks and research methodologies to improve clarity, consistency, and reliability of insights
Partner with Strategy to transform data into meaningful insights that spur business action
Lead and Inspire the Team
Manage, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of technical specialists (e.g., Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Analysts) to serve as objective, reliable data resources for the organization
Foster a culture of analytical excellence, integrity, and curiosity
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.) with strong record of academic achievement; master’s degree preferred
7+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, data engineering, preferably in Sports and/or Media & Entertainment
Exceptional ability to distill and interpret raw data to offer creative, practical, actionable insights; experience making data and insights accessible to broad and diverse audiences
Experience building and managing a data vendor stack that enhances data use
Strong foundation in data governance, data warehousing, and ETL processes
Hands‑on experience developing and implementing predictive models to forecast trends and behaviors; proficient in R, Python, and SQL
Expert knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); proven experience developing dashboard suites centered on clarity, accuracy, and effective storytelling
Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to work cross‑functionally, prioritize, multi‑task, and manage major projects with deadlines, often in an ambiguous environment

The Baltimore Orioles are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits for our employees. The anticipated salary for this role is $175,000-$210,000 annually depending on experience, plus bonus opportunity.
The Baltimore Orioles provide generous benefits, including paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick leave, health insurance (single and family), vision and dental coverage, life insurance, concession/merchandise discounts, free parking, and complimentary baseball tickets to home games. 401(k) plan with discretionary employer match available after one year of service and 1,000 hours is also available.
