Required Qualifications
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Texas Master Plumbers License. May be required to possess a Water Distribution (WD) License or Backflow Prevention License within six months of hire
Must possess 3-5 years of supervisory, management experience of plumbers, or must have employment experience as a supervisor of plumbers
Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing plumbing system problems, as well as diagnosing and repairing electrical and hydraulic systems
Able to read and interpret manuals; perform basic math, and understand blueprints, schematics and drawings, and the associated plumbing implications
Able to operate a personal computer and related software
Experience and knowledge of tools and vehicles used during operations, construction standards, codes, laws and regulations
Experience with ordering materials or equipment according to job orders or tasks and maintaining an inventory of parts
Have a valid Texas driver’s license, and is your driving record in good standing according to university policy (fewer than 10 points for infractions)?
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of university policies and procedures; faculty and staff rules and regulations
Experience working in government or other institution of higher learning
Experience with AiM IWMS, by AssetWorks
Job Description The Supervisor, Plumbers is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of plumbing systems across all university buildings and properties.
Job Duties
Oversee the daily functions of the Plumbing personnel, including scheduling projects, and assigning certain personnel to these projects.
Assist employees in tasks and jobs.
Enforce compliance with safety rules.
Coordinate with other departments or shops.
Order and obtain necessary parts, supplies, and materials.
Inspect work done by employees.
Document recurring issues.
Review documentation such as labor log sheets, vehicle mileage reports, work orders, and monthly time sheets.
Complies with all state and university policies.
Required to carry a cell phone.
Operate university vehicle.
Perform other duties as assigned.
